new family home in an existing garden - Pardon Chambers Architects

Marlborough Close

Following an earlier unsuccessful planning application by the client, Pardon Chambers was asked to produce a successful solution for an additional house within the garden of, and adjacent to, their existing property. Our services included extensive pre-application discussions with the planning authority supported by a detailed design statement and physical model. The new design utilized the sloping site and a hybrid flat/ pitched roof form to create a solution that provided generous accommodation whilst remaining subservient to the existing dwelling.

We were able to demonstrate that an atypical building could meet the criteria of all planning policies. The proposal received planning permission in January 2020.
